Penalties for Drug Manufacturing
Drug manufacturing in California is considered a felony that is punishable
by three, five, or seven years in prison and a maximum fine of $50,000.
Furthermore, if children under 16 years of age live in, are present in,
or are harmed in the location where the drugs are made, an additional
five-year consecutive prison term will be imposed upon conviction.
If the drug being manufactured contains methamphetamines, PCP, or GHB,
even longer sentences may be imposed. If, in the course of making the
drugs, someone is injured or killed, the prison sentence will be extended as well.
